My tasks involve developing the Liebe Group’s GRDC funded soil health project.  This involves establishing a long term trial site and 8 Satellite sites around the Coorow, Perenjori and Dalwallinu Shires.  The objective is to identify constraints to yield within the soil resource and implement management strategies aimed at resolving them.  The key with this job is the farmer interaction with the research program, the non-defined research program and the fact that I won’t be advising farmers on how to farm better, just trialling new things and passing on the information.

I am working for a global consultancy firm (WS Atkins) in the Water Resources unit.  Here I've been advising, developing and sometimes project managing (!) the development of policy and guidelines related to the five year review of Water Company Plans in Britain.  Not the whole thing, just the environment programme designed to fund the restoration over 250 sites of water company impact on the environment (350 million pounds worth).  I'm also project managing the development of a programme to address the other 400+ sites that are not the water companies' fault and require development of compensation policy and associated CBA and environmental valuation methods (400 million pounds worth).
