Growing populations and rising incomes are increasing the demands on the Earth’s resources.
As a consequence, there are many unresolved conflicts over the use of natural resources and the conservation of the environment. Natural resource managers apply scientific, economic and social knowledge to help society in resolving these conflicts. This course will provide you with knowledge of natural resource and environmental systems and the ability to integrate and apply scientific, economic and social knowledge in the management of natural resource systems.
The Graduate Certificate in Science (Natural Resource Management) consists of four coursework units.
Students may select from a wide variety of units including Earth Surface Processes and Soils, Ecology, The Climate System, Plant Physiology: Plants in Action, Marine Science, Coastal Geomorphology and Sediments, Business and the Environment, Environmental Hydrology, Global Climate Change and Biodiversity, Land Plant Diversity and Systematics, Environmental Policy and Law, Project and Risk Management, Environmental and Resource Economics, Management Decision Tools, Case studies in Land and Water Management, Conservation Biology and Restoration Ecology, Climate Dynamics and Climate Change, Policy and Planning.

A relevant bachelor's degree from this or another recognised university; or a qualification or a level of education and professional experience recognised by the Faculty as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
