environmental_managementEnvironmental management has become an integral part of the activities of industry and governments.

It is now a primary function and requirement closely tied to questions of economic development and environmental sustainability. It involves devising effective measures for the protection and conservation of the environment, natural and cultural heritage and natural resources. This course will provide you with the necessary skills in the procedures and methods required in environmental management practices.

Course outline

The Graduate Certificate in Science (Environmental Management) consists of four coursework units.

Students may select from a wide variety of units including Environmental Policy and Law, Environmental Economics, Environmental Hydrology, Global Climate Change and Biodiversity, Business and the Environment, Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Change, Project and Risk Management, Environmental Planning, Management and Sustainability, Marine and Coastal Planning and Management, Management Decision Tools and Climate Change Policy and Planning.

Admission requirements

Domestic students

A relevant bachelor's degree from this or another recognised university; or a qualification or a level of education and professional experience recognised by the Faculty as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
